We've MOVED!

Everyone attention! Point your browsers to http://v-mundi.com

Now V*Mundi has moved to its own domain with tons of new features! I've managed to preserve all of the articles and even comments, though I've been working non-stop for the last 24 hours straight, so there's a period of several hours there where some comments may have been left here after the import. Sorry about that if you're one of them, but just go repost!

For the last few days, I've been securing a domain and web hosting for V*Mundi to take the next step. It was pretty clear after the astounding growth of the site within the first year that everything had to stop being so novice-like. You'll find the new site much prettier, much faster loading, and much easier to navigate.

Though be aware that server maintenance is a thing and is pretty rampant right now. The new site might hiccup from time to time or even occasionally go down while either my Domain Name Server gets repaired or my webhost deals with traffic. Rest assured this won't exactly be the norm. The hosting is really cheap—only five USD a month, so even small donations (if you're inclined) will actually go really far to keeping the site running smoothly.

Have a great rest of the day everyone and remember to update your bookmarks!

What is Random Chance?

Vanguard often provokes discussion and use of random chance. It's one of the great tools of mathematicians, meteorologists, astronomers, and especially quantum physicists. What what is randomness? What exactly is chance? How do they work and why is everyone so sure of them? In this article, I'd like to take a look at these questions and the nature of randomness, along with what randomness is, is not, and why it works. This is an important tool for Vanguard and understanding chance goes a long way toward bettering one's self as a whole. It becomes a toolkit that can work not only in Vanguard and other TCGs, but also many other areas of your life.

A few things...

Sorry about the recent lack of overall activity. I had some issues for a while with business (other projects), but then I ended up losing my internet connection this last week which really crippled my ability to do anything. So to everyone who was waiting for new articles and updates, sorry about that wait.

Another thing you may notice:
The Vanguard Card Template is gone!

There's a really good reason for this. I got an email from Bushiroad's solicitor (legal council) and they brought to my attention that apparently some piracy groups had used my template to print off and sell pirated goods. Now unlike the completely wrong definition of 'piracy' that most of you are familiar with, I'm not talking about simple internet file sharing type copyright infringement. I mean full-blown counterfeiting with distribution of a fake Bushiroad product. Needless to say, I was pissed right off. That template was intended for fun only; to increase the interest in Cardfight!! Vanguard and make people smile. It wasn't meant for someone to go being greedy or parading it around like the real thing (they also looked terrible, which should be a crime).

That having been said, I've acquiesced to Bushiroad's request and taken that down, as well as offered them an apology for the problems caused. In addition, the Acceptable Image Use Policy is now in full compliance. I strongly urge any of you out there with your own personal copies of the template not to let it fall into the hands of counterfeiters. I can't stop any of you from reposting it since it seems to be so wide-spread, just at least do us all the favor of not putting it anywhere someone might use it for piracy. Be advised, this thing isn't coming back and I won't be making the 2.0 large version since I now know what it will end up being used for.

Alright sorry about all the bad news. I'll be attempting to get some actual work done now that my internet connection is back. Though I also have lots of other projects too, so expect some downtime and slowness.

Peace!

V*Mundi Anniversary

We've made it to our first successful year. On April 24th of 2012, this blog had its first post put up about calculating and abusing chance in Vanguard. That post set the standard for what this blog and the forum community would eventually represent and sparked an unexpectedly large reader base within the following year.
